Packing Suggestions:
- Sleeping bag
- Sheet, pillow
- Towel/washcloth
- Toiletries
- Casual clothes to wear to church and back at the end of our trip,
- 2 outfits for work (probably jeans with t-shirts and long-sleeved cover shirt),
- Sunglasses,
- Hat & work gloves,
- Sturdy shoes and
- 5 pair of socks/underwear
- Sleeping garb
- Bug spray
- Medications
- Flashlight
- Bible
- Journal/Pen
- Maybe a camera? Any other ideas?
I'm still checking on tool and supply and food needs. Robin is planning our food, but we are flexible at this point. Ellie is gathering cards of encouragement to give to the people there. Dick and Delores Smith are sending banners along for Lakeshore Baptist. (Great idea, Robin!) Jenni is planning devotionals for us if we are able to gather for devotions.
Driving:
- The plan is for us to drive separately from the Twin Cities and then meet in southern MN for a stretch break. We can keep in contact on the way down for safety reasons. People can change cars as we go to be with special friends. However, we can possibly start with groups based on where people live for convenience sake. Robin's group - Ellie, Shirley, ?; Linda's group - Me, Paul, Jenni, and Shannon... This may not be a good idea. I was just thinking we might want to avoid rush hour traffic as much as possible and not leave cars at church. I'm open to suggestions here, especially if Matt comes with us.
